The Fittest of the Sierras has been a great event for the Growing Worldwide Opportunity Foundation, through this event we have been able to raise over $6,000 dollars for grants and scholarships.  In general, the Crossfit community has been a great supporter of our efforts at GWOF.  The Fittest of the Sierras started as a small local event but over the last two years has grown into a popular destination event for Crossfiters in the Sierra region.  Thanks to this great growth we decided to put the time and effort into making this event its own stand alone brand - www.fittestofthesierras.org.

GWOF and South Tahoe Crossfit formed an official partnership this year to run and operate the Fittest of the Sierras.  This partnership will allow the two organizations to bring more resources and efficiency to the event.  In addition to the individual event the Women Empowering Women team event and an all male team event will also fall under the Fittest of the Sierras brand.  All net proceeds will be contributed to GWOF and ultimately distributed to domestic and international projects.  A big thank you to all those that have built the Fittest of the Sierras to what it is today.  We look forward to many more great years of competition in South Lake Tahoe.
